IlluDesign : an e-commerce platform dedicated to B2B customers

About Illudesign

IlluDesign, a specialist in lighting and electromaterials in Belgium for over 26 years, offers its expertise to private individuals and professionals to illuminate their residential, commercial and industrial projects.

Context

When IlluDesign turned to DJM digital, the company was facing a crucial challenge. Its existing website no longer met the needs of its ever-growing B2B customer base. To improve its business results and deliver an optimal user experience, IlluDesign wanted to implement an e-commerce platform dedicated to this customer base.

A tailor-made B2B platform

Faced with IlluDesign’s specific needs, DJM digital opted for a tailor-made approach. Our development team chose to use Magento 2 for its flexibility and ability to meet the complex requirements of large-scale online commerce.

In addition, we customised every aspect of the site to align perfectly with IlluDesign’s internal processes. To ensure seamless integration with their ERP system, we developed a bespoke connector. This connector was designed to extract essential data from the ERP in real time, such as product information, stocks and prices specific to B2B customers. This data was then seamlessly integrated into the website, ensuring continuous synchronisation and perfect consistency between the company’s different systems.

Thispersonalised approach enabled the development of a B2B e-commerce platform tailored to our client’s unique needs. Thanks to this platform, IlluDesign can now offer its B2B customers an online shopping experience perfectly aligned with their requirements. It includes a powerful and fast search engine, as well as the ability to order easily, with their personalised prices displayed instantly. This solution optimises not only navigation, but also all internal processes, enabling efficient management of orders and transactions.

To create an online sales platform that reflected IlluDesign’s image while meeting the requirements of B2B retail, effectively managing over 120,000 products. The platform had to simplify transactions and optimise the customer experience, which required a great deal of thought. Integration with the ERP system was crucial, as was the scalability of the platform to support the customer’s growth.

Our agency supported IlluDesign throughout the thinking, development and launch of its new e-commerce platform. Our objective was to create a website focused on results and conversions, in order to strengthen IlluDesign’s position in its market.

We therefore implemented a user-friendly interface, guaranteeing easy navigation for B2B customers. A powerful search engine was integrated to allow users to quickly find the products they needed. This feature has greatly enhanced the product search and exploration experience.

The retention and loyalty of customers was at the heart of our approach. We implemented extensive personalisation of the site, based on each customer’s purchase history. In addition, the management of quotations and invoicing has been optimised to simplify the purchasing process. Customers can easily accept quotes sent by sales staff, which has not only simplified the ordering process, but also helps to boost sales by making the procedure more fluid and transparent.

The advanced filters and search engine have enabled customers to search for products with unparalleled accuracy, simplifying the buying process and encouraging exploration of the IlluDesign catalogue. What’s more, streamlining the ordering and quote management process means that quotes can now be generated with just a few clicks, boosting confidence and encouraging repeat purchases.

Each B2B customer has a personalised customer account that records their browsing and order history. We have set up lists of favourites and predefined baskets based on each customer’s preferences, speeding up the purchasing process. Using artificial intelligence, we have also designed personalised discounts and conditions for each customer, based on their behaviour.

All these features have had a direct impact on IlluDesign’s objectives by encouraging more frequent and larger purchases. They have improved customer satisfaction by simplifying their online shopping experience. Customers can now find products more easily, accept quotes more quickly and benefit from personalised offers, which translates into increased sales and customer loyalty.
